We believe in elevating the industry and holding ourselves to higher standards. Tasha follows the dog*biz Code of Ethics as a Certified Dog Walker (learn more about CDWs), the IAABC Code of Ethics as a Supporting Member, and the Pet Sitters International Code of Ethics as a Certified Professional Pet Sitter, and requires all employees to follow them as well.
We attend canine science symposiums, take online classes, and strive to continue our education.
Only force-free methods & equipment are used. In addition, we are loving, dependable and trustworthy pet-a-holics!
Your pet will remain in their familiar environment, and dogs will be walked at a location you approve of.
We follow their customary diet and exercise routine while including obedience breaks, play time and bonding time, and because we don't walk large packs, your pet receives lots of love and personal attention while you are away. -
Tasha has been caring for other people's pets since 2013 as a Certified Dog Walker (CDW) and Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS). Pawsitive Adventure Crew has been taking care of Nashville pets since 2017, first as Pawsitive Pet Care until we rebranded January 2022.
Our entire team is made up of animal lovers and pet owners who are highly trained, including Pet Tech First Aid and CPR Certified, and most are pursuing their animal training careers or already have their certifications.
We have experience with different varieties of mix breed and purebred dogs, cats, horses, birds, fish, and other small animals. We are not afraid to care for any animal, within reason, and provide a high level of care and love. EXCEPT SPIDERS. TASHA IS A BIG ARACHNOPHOBE. -
We can care for most animals, as long as they don’t pose a danger to humans, but typically we specialize in dogs and cats. We do not care for any animals that have a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people, unless said animal is going through a rehabilitation program with a certified force-free trainer, or board certified behaviorist.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL WE CARE FOR SPIDERS OF ANY KIND. Because Tasha is an arachnophobe, and a really wussy one at that. Nope. Just, nope.
-
Yes. We carry liability insurance and bond through Pet Care Business Insurance that covers all employees.
-
Cat Care Drop-ins are scheduled between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm only. We are no longer accepting new cat only clients, but are continuing to service our current cat only clients.
Group Adventures, Woodland Walks, and Neighborhood Dog Walks are between 9am-5pm. Other times can be arranged, if absolutely crucial.
VIP 24/7 Pet Sitting services are 24/7 (meaning unless we are checking on another client’s pet we are at your home with your pet) with Sitters required to be at location from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am.
Standard Overnights are from 8pm-7am with a 2 hour day time visit.
Office Hours are M-F, 9am-5pm.
-
Our VIP 24/7 Pet Sitting service includes:
Feeding (per your instructions), fresh water, dogs walked, love and play time, brushing, litter box cleaned, bird cage cleaned, medication given if needed, mail and newspaper brought in, plants watered, lights on and off. Lots of TLC. Often, we take dogs on a nature adventure to one of our many parks for decompression and fun!
During our Cat Care Drop-in visits:
Feed and water the kitties, give them some play time, clean the litter, mail and newspaper brought in, plants watered, lights on and off.
Dog Walking services include:
Fresh water, dogs walked with reinforcement of good behavior and leash manners or play time in the backyard, pool, or potty break and play indoors during severe weather.
-
Your pets’ health and well-being is our top concern; if we can make it to your home, but extreme weather makes a normal walk unsuitable, we use the below protocol.
Extreme Heat/Cold/Rain Protocol:
1. Group Adventures will become 60 minute individual visits for each dog.2. For all 30 minute and 60 minute visits for dogs, we will do a potty break outside, then indoor play and backyard play if appropriate (if a backyard is available).
3. For Woodland Walks, we will only take them out if the nature trail has 100% shade and a stream that they can have access to for wading. Otherwise, we will do indoor/backyard play. For extreme cold or rain, they will be come 60 minute individual visits with indoor play.
Pawsitive Adventure Crew requests the name and phone number of an emergency contact person, hopefully living nearby. If we are physically unable to reach your home due to impassable roads, we will contact you, then will contact that person.
-
Meeting us is always free.
-
Prior to introducing us to your animal, you will need to fill out the Apply For Services form and obtain digital copies of up-to-date vaccinations for each pet.
When we meet, Tasha will ask you questions to complete the full application, approve it if everything goes well, and show you how to use your account.
You'll need to provide emergency contact information, veterinary contact information, and proof of up-to-date vaccines, and the lock box code or any keys needed to gain access to the animal(s) if applicable. Most of the meeting will be time getting to know you and your pets. -
A storage key lock box is the safest, easiest way for your Walker or Sitter to get in, and you don't have to worry about lost or stolen keys...and to be honest, we won't have to worry about keeping track of them either! We have had some keys lost in...interesting...ways, and it's a hassle for clients to replace them. Complete details on the storage key lock box policy can be found here.

Dog Walking:
An invoice with an explanation of charges for the coming month is emailed to you on the 25th. Cards are kept on file and charged automatically on the 1st. You can also pay directly from your Client Account manually. We accept checks or cash left on a counter top or secure place in your home, made out to Tasha M. Erickson or Pawsitive Adventure Crew.
Payment is due by the 1st of each month. After 5 days of non-payment, $5 will be added to the total bill for each day that payment is overdue up to 30 days, when at that time the contract will be considered null and void.
Pet Sitting:
25% non-refundable deposit is auto-charged at time of scheduling, with the remaining balance due by the day before services begin, and is charged to the card on file.
In the case of a returned check:
A $10 fee will apply to the first one returned, in addition to the original check balance.
For the second returned check within 3 months, the fee is $25.
In both cases, the terms of late payments as stated above will apply.
The third returned item will constitute a termination of the contract, a $25 fee, and the terms of late payments above will apply.

We are super flexible when it comes to Dog Walking. You can even let us know the day of, though at least 24 hours is preferred. For visits that fall on a holiday, please let us know during the schedule review period. You get an email to remind you!
There are no refunds or credits given for cancellations of flat monthly rate dog walking; you pay for reserving a time slot.
If you are not on a Flat Monthly Rate, cancellations result in a credit on your account towards the next invoice.
Pet Sitting & Cat Care cancellations result in a refund of the balance or credit on your account, minus the 25% non-refundable deposit.
-
If you are unhappy you can cancel service at any time and we will go our separate ways, though cancellation policies will apply. You want to know that your pets will be cared for just the way you specify.
Pawsitive Adventure Crew will be happy to address any concerns you may have so your pets are taken care of perfectly. We believe in bonding with animals to provide consistency, and lasting client relationships, so we will do what we can to make sure you are completely satisfied.
-
Pawsitive Adventure Crew will keep your information secure to the best of our ability. Everything is kept electronically through Time to Pet, our business management software and in some cases, Dropbox, so their privacy policies apply.
Checks that have been electronically deposited are held in a fire/water proof safe until they are shredded 90 days later.

Great question! We very much believe in doing our part to keep the community safe. Our policy is as follows:
Staff are to wear face masks whenever entering a client’s home, for the duration they are in the client’s home, and maintain at least 6ft of distance if they are in the presence of another person, per each client’s request.
Staff are to notify management immediately if they are feeling ill with any Covid-19 symptoms, even if they think it's allergies, and stay home.
Staff may return to work with a negative PCR test or two negative Rapid Tests.
All staff are given hand sanitizer to keep on their person at all times, as well as sanitizer wipes.
They should use the sanitizer on their hands if they interact with a person (hand shaking, passing keys/fobs back and forth), and they should be using the wipes to wipe off equipment we have touched like harness buckles, fobs, elevator buttons, leashes, collars, etc.
If you have any other precautions you would like us to take upon entering your home, like shoes off/wear shoe covers, etc. please let us know. Our team is vaccinated on the second dose or booster of one of the available vaccines, though we recognize that not everyone else in the community is.
Dog Walking

Clients can still have a variety of walk lengths, like a Group Adventure on Monday & 60 minute visit on Wednesday or 60 minutes Monday & Friday, but Tuesdays are 30 minutes. You’ll simply have a more reliable and consistent visit time, on the same days each week/month and we'll be enforcing our 2 visit per week minimum policy.
We’re still flexible with changes; instead of canceling last minute, rescheduling to another day will be highly encouraged if you really don't need us to come by that day.
Everyone gets 10 days a year of “vacation days” per dog, so you can still take time off. These can be used for when you go out of town and your dog doesn't need walks, canceling last minute instead of rescheduling, etc. These 10 days have already been accounted for out of your monthly rate. What's more is that if you go out of town but use us for pet sitting, you don't use ANY of your vacation days on that trip!
Those with flexible work schedules that change week to week, like nurses and government workers, will still be able to request services to get on the schedule. We love our essential job workers and the work they are doing, and we are proud to help ease their minds over pet care.
Less work for us, less work for you. There will be reduced admin time and potential invoice errors on our end. Clients will have reduced stress with a predictable monthly expense, no need to reserve visit times, and being a monthly client ensures your dog’s spot on our calendar.
With the automatic payment policy clients can be worry free about whether they remembered to pay their invoice and reduces the chance of incurring late fees, which we happen to hate having to collect.
But most importantly it allows our team to continue to be there for our clients and their pets. To protect what clients choose Pawsitive Adventure Crew for—safe, individual dog walks and small-group guided walks by passionate, highly qualified, and in some cases, certified professionals—it is time to make this change.
-
Our Neighborhood Walk visits are 30 minutes or 60 minutes, Woodland Walks are 90 minutes, and for Group Adventures your dog will be out of the house for up to 3 hours. Sometimes if time permits, we will spend a little extra time giving some love and play time.
-
We try to keep the time consistent to not interrupt an established routine, but sometimes things get moved around. Of course if you have an animal that needs medicine at a critical time, please let us know.
-
We will walk on all holidays, but those must be scheduled before the 1st of the month or by specified deadlines stated in the monthly email newsletter Client News + Updates.
Visits are subject to a Holiday Fee of $10 per visit. Pet Sitting is scheduled by first come first serve and we only offer a limited number of slots for Holiday Visits.
Holiday Visits include New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
-
Yes, we do. We keep dog waste bags on us at all times. Keeping private and public property free of pet waste is healthy for your pets and other animals, and considerate to your community.
-
Yes, we will clean up after your pets to the best of our ability. If there are always accidents, we will ask you to book an additional visit in the day. We do a quick walk through to check for accidents upon arrival. We can't guarantee complete smell and stain removal, but you won't have any unpleasant surprises waiting for you when you get home!
Pet Sitting

Overnight visits are to give you peace of mind knowing that your home is being looked after as well as your pets getting extra love and attention. If your pets are used to sleeping in your bed with you, Sitters are happy to snuggle with them in bed too!
For Standard Overnight Pet Sitting, Sitters are at your home from 8pm-7am with a 2 hour daytime visit.
With VIP 24/7 Pet Sitting, unless the Sitter is running errands or walking other dogs during the day they spent all their extra time at your home with your pets. They are required to be at your home from 8pm-8am.
Pet Sitting includes dog walking, playtime, snuggles, love, and feeding and watering, litter checks, and anything else your pets need.
-
Yes, you can expect competently trained animal lovers to help take care of your pet! We set preferred sitters/walkers and backup sitters/walkers for each client and work hard to make sure each team member has a positive relationship and trust built up between each pet they care for.
-
Sorry, we can not board pets in our homes. We all have pets of our own, and for safety’s sake we don’t want to stress out anyone’s animals. Pets do best in their own home anyway, with their routines and familiar surroundings. We do provide daily or overnight visits for your pets.
-
Yes! You will receive report cards and messages through the conversation feed of your Client Account. Expect funny, silly images that show how much fun your pets have while you are away paired with a personally written (and often also funny) message!
-
We require a Meet & Greet before taking care of your pets.
-
No, please understand that we have made time for your visits and may have turned other people down to allow time for your pets. We appreciate your understanding in this matter, and under certain circumstances credit towards future services may be offered.
-
We will let you know that there is not enough food so that you are aware. We are happy to make a special trip to purchase food, too! Reimbursement for the cost of the food + a $10 trip fee will be added to your next payment period.
